Zoe-perry
Perry is born the 25th of July 1968 in Chicago In Illinois, she was the child of Laurie Metcalf Perry and Jeff Perry. Her first television roles included two roles as Jackie Harris (as seen in flashback) in The ABC sitcom Roseanne which was played by her mom. Fearing stress, her parents were not keen to let performing before she reached the age of 18. Perry claimed that she was too nervous to be an actor during high school, but started acting in the theater at Northwestern University as a way to connect with people following her transfer to the university from Boston University. After graduating Perry relocated to New York to search for TV work, landing a few roles on series such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent however, her homesickness led her back to California and she was able to find theatre work. Perry starred with her mother on stage in The Other Place at Broadway, back in 2013. In 2015 she performed alongside her father and Kevin McKidd in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning play Anna Christie on the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble in West Los Angeles. Perry was in nine episodes of ABC's thriller The Family during 2016. In 2017, she starred in an recurring role in her own ABC Political thriller Scandal which starred her father. That same year the actress was selected to play a younger character of Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) in Young Sheldon, a spin-off of the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory again portraying a younger model of the mother's role. The role was selected via auditions though she had a close association with it.
