Lita Rossana Ford (also commonly referred to by the name Lita Ford) is a British born American guitar vocalist who played the role of lead singer for The Runaways a female hard rock group in the 1970s. They gained attention for their provocative lyrics and punkish style. The band didn't have much of a following within their home country of the United States. However, the group's popularity increased abroad especially in Japan. Ford began a solo heavy metal career following the split of her band in 1979. She took voice lessons and recorded her first solo album 'Out for Blood and 'Dancin' On the Edge. Both albums failed to get much attention and Ford just vanished out of the scene for several years. In 1988, she released her hit album "Lita". Both the track "Kiss Me Deadly" and ballad "Close My Eyes Forever" were big hits. But her fame was only short-lived and she vanished from the music industry for a few years. In 1995, she released 'Black' and 15 years later , 'Wicked Wonderland. She released her latest album Time Capsule in 2016. She was awarded The Certified Guitar Legend Award by Guitar Player Magazine.
